BTRC wants immediate response from Facebook

The government yesterday expressed unhappiness over Facebooks delayed response to block sensitive content on the popular social media platform. On behalf of the government, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) expressed the concern at a meeting with Facebook authorities in Dhaka.

BTRC director general Brig. Gen. Mostafa Kamal led the government delegation, while Matt Jonson, head of Asia, Facebook, headed the social media team. Facebook has become more sensitive, as it is the most popular social media site among young people. So any sensitive content on Facebook should be blocked as soon as a request reaches their door. But they dont respond as quickly as we want them to. That is our concern, said a government official who attended the meeting.
