Court defers probe report submission till Dec 28

A Dhaka court on Wednesday fixed December 28 for submission of the probe report in the case filed over Gulshan Holey Artisan Caf attack.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nurunnahar Yesmin passed the order as Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) inspector Humayun Kabir, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, failed to submit probe report by today (Wednesday) and sought more time.

The court earlier asked the CTTC to submit the report of the Holey Artisan attack by November 15.

The court earlier gave several times to submit the report.

On the evening of July 1, 2016, five militants entered the Holy Artisan Caf and Bakery with crude bombs, machetes, pistols, and took several dozen people hostages, including 18 foreigners.

Twenty hostages – nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian, one Bangladesh-born American and two Bangladeshis – were killed as the militants sprayed them with bullets indiscriminately or cut their throats to confirm
