BD students in US reach all-time high with 9.7pc rise: Report

The number of students from Bangladesh in the United States increased by 9.7 percent to 7,143 in 2016-17, beating the international average increase of 3.4 percent, according to the 2017 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange.

Bangladesh became a top-25 student-sending country for international students studying in the United State for the 2016-2017 school year.

The number of Bangladeshi students studying in the US has increased by 53.5 percent over the past five years, according to the report shared by the US Embassy in Dhaka on Tuesday.

EducationUSA Bangladesh will lead a nation-wide series of programs for International Education Week (IEW) 2017 from November 13-17.

IEW 2017 will include nearly 30 activities which will promote US higher education, strengthening teacher and counselor networks in Bangladesh, and State Department exchange programs.
